About Department
Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities is one of the indispensable departments of Engineering. The Department imparts excellent quality education in the area of Applied Science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science etc.) and Humanities (Communication Skills, English etc.) for the future technocrats of all streams and enhances innovative thinking among the students. It also provides the students with new and revised in-house manuals and question banks in different disciplines for the students. The Department has well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Numerical analysis, and English Language.
We strongly believe that in today’s world a student must lay immense stress on developing his mental and physical abilities and for the development of these abilities the institute provides its students with a number of opportunities to participate in the various cultural and co-curricular activities held throughout the year. The department aims to build an engineer with a strong moral and character that will lead him to be an exceptional engineer on the field.

APPLIED SCIENCE - LABORATORY
Applied Physics Lab
The students of different branches of engineering programmes learn the fundamentals of engineering in the physics lab which includes all the different laws of measurements and gain a hands-on experience of the usage of different basic equipments.
Chemistry Lab
Practical Knowledge is very Important in field of Engineering. In chemistry laboratory where theoreticalteaching is converted into practical activities where students are getting hand to hand practical experience about knowledge provided to them in classrooms. In chemistry laboratory experiments are be properly designed and implemented with an attempt to develop different types of skills leading to the achievement of the competency.
Basics Of Computer And Information Technology Lab
This subject provides knowledge regarding basics of computer & information technology inwhich student learn basic computer, word,power point, excel.

PLACEMENT DRIVE OF ENJAY IT SOLUTIONS FOR CSE AND IT
Enjay IT Solutions has conducted Campus placements for the Degree IT and CSE students on 18.03.2019, in which around 25 students participated where 10 students were shortlisted for 2 round.
ANDROID APP DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
Department of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology collaboratively organized a 3- Day Hands-on Training workshop of Android App Development from August 30, 2018- September 1, 2018. Mr. Dharmesh Valjibhai Makwana Senior Developer from Survivor Infotech, Valsad having a vast experience in App and Web development shared his skill and time for the students of LIT. In the course time of 3 days, He has started with the basics of Android Studio, Its material design alerts to complex designing, offline storage, and online storage. The Workshop was highly appreciated by all the participants and at the end of three days, participants were able to create their own simple Android App.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT AT KAKRAPAR ATOMIC POWER STATION, VYARA
Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam organized an industrial visit on 12th October, 2016 at Kakrapar Atomic Power Station, Vyara. The trip was organized for 3rd semester CSE & IT students in view to visualize the real time networking in public sectors. 54 students along with 6 faculties visited the power plant.
EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION SUMMIT 2015
Elocution competition for University students (For and Against the Motion) was organized prior to award function at the Senate Hall of Gujarat University. Eight students per Institutions participated. Eight students of LIT with four faculties as Jury and Coordinator performed well. (The details of participated students and faculty are attached). Three students have won the prizes among all the colleges affiliated under Gujarat University in Gujarat state education.
MAKE IN INDIA @ LIT
Honorable Prime Minister’s of India Initiative of Make in India was propagated as a final year project fair Make in India@LIT-2015 at Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam, on 25th April, 2015. The Engineering students prepared and presented 92 innovative projects which have potential to be developed as a product.
