As part of the Engineers’ Day celebration, the NSS Unit of LIT, along with Valsad Raktadan Kendra, organized an engaging CPR Workshop to equip students and faculty with life-saving skills.
Huge applause to Dr. Abhishek Mistry from Valsad Raktadan Kendra for delivering an impactful training session. His expertise and passion inspired participants to understand the importance of timely CPR in saving lives.
The workshop was a perfect blend of education, awareness, and hands-on experience, preparing our community to act in emergencies with confidence.
Kudos to the NSS unit for taking this initiative forward and instilling a sense of responsibility, care, and readiness among the students.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP 2025

A heartfelt shoutout to the 23 student donors whose generosity and selfless spirit will help save countless lives. Each donation is a gift of hope, and your act of kindness truly reflects the spirit of service.

PLEDGE TAKING CEREMONY UNDER NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN 2025

As a part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, our institution proudly organised a Pledge Taking Ceremony on 19th August 2025 to spread awareness and commitment towards a drug-free and healthy lifestyle.
The pledge was delivered through the college speaker system and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all departments. With sincerity and determination, our students took an oath to stay away from drugs, alcohol, tobacco and all kinds of harmful substances, and to inspire their friends and society to do the same. This meaningful initiative was organised by Prof. Kaushik Panara, LIT-NSS Coordinator, and his dedicated team, who worked diligently to ensure active participation and awareness.
This collective commitment reflects our determination to create a healthier, safer and more responsible young generation. Let us all stand together and continue promoting a Substance-Free India. 

NSS CLOTHES DONATION DRIVE

The NSS Unit of Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam successfully organized a Clothes Donation Drive to support underprivileged families in the Banjara Basti area, opposite Bhilad Railway Station, near Hanuman Temple.
In the days leading up to the event, NSS volunteers collected old clothes from various people, then carefully washed, ironed, and packed them neatly to ensure they were ready to be donated with dignity.
The drive saw the enthusiastic participation of 20 NSS volunteers, who dedicated their time and efforts with compassion and commitment. Our Director, Dr. Basavaraj Patil, addressed the volunteers with valuable guidance, inspiring them to actively engage in social service. We were honored by the presence of Mr. Kaustubh Arekar, Principal of Laxmi Global School, who served as the Chief Guest and motivated our volunteers to continue making a positive impact in society.
A special thanks to Mr. Rajesh Pavaskar, a renowned social worker, whose presence and encouraging words strengthened the spirit of community service among our students. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shri R. N. Gohil for his unwavering support in all NSS and social activities at LIT, and to Prof. Dhaval Tandel and NSS Coordinator, Prof. Kaushik Panara for their constant encouragement throughout the event.

WORLD EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

We came together to celebrate World Earth Day with a strong message — “Our planet, our responsibility.” We were honored to host two incredible change-makers:
Mr. Rajesh Pavaskar, Founder of ME & ME GROUP Umbergoan and a senior journalist at GSTV News, who has been tirelessly working for the last 20 years on a Plastic-Free Umbergoan mission. His dedication has led to the donation of countless cloth bags and plants, spreading environmental awareness across schools, government offices, and villages.
Mrs. Smitaben Kapdi, an active member of ME & ME GROUP, also joined us and addressed the gathering with her motivating words. She encouraged students to “Plant a Tree on their Birthday” — a simple yet impactful step to give back to Mother Earth.
Mr. Pavaskar interacted with students and emphasized the importance of replacing plastic bags with cloth alternatives. His powerful message — “Say NO to Non-Biodegradable Plastic” — truly resonated with everyone present.
To make the event interactive, students were asked what they would personally do to Save Earth. Those who responded with thoughtful answers were appreciated with gifts. As a token of responsibility and change, each student was gifted a cloth bag, and they pledged to take the first step by avoiding plastic in their daily lives.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FORESTS 2025

Our 1st-year students embarked on an enlightening journey to the World’s Biggest Miyawaki Forest – “FOREST BY THE SEA” in honor of the International Day of Forests. This immersive Forest Walk was organized by NSS-LIT, offering students a profound insight into environmental conservation and afforestation efforts.
We were privileged to be welcomed by Dr. R.K. Nair, affectionately known as India’s “Green Hero,” who has been instrumental in creating over 80 lush forests across 12 states using the Miyawaki technique. Dr. Nair graciously shared his expertise, detailing the process and significance of developing such thriving ecosystems. Our heartfelt appreciation extends to our dedicated faculty coordinators: Dr. Hiral Desai, Prof. Ketan Vyas, Prof. Biraja Prasad Das and our NSS Coordinator, Prof. Kaushik Panara. 

SAVE ENERGY CAMPAIGN 2025

Save Energy Campaign was successfully conducted at LIT Seminar Hall, emphasizing the importance of energy conservation for a sustainable future. 
The event, organized by NSS Coordinator Prof. Kaushik Panara and his dedicated team of volunteers, was a great initiative to spread awareness. Volunteers visited each classroom, interacted with students, and placed ‘Save Energy’ stickers to remind everyone about responsible energy usage.
Prof. S. Kannan, HOD, along with Prof. Biraja P. Das from the Electrical Engineering Department, shared insightful thoughts on the major impact of energy conservation on the country’s growth and provided simple yet effective tips to save energy at home.

TRAFFIC EDUCATIONAL AND ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAM 2025

On 29 January, Dhwani Auditorium was abuzz with energy as we successfully hosted the National Road Safety Awareness & Educational Program. We were honored to have Mr. Devendra A. Patel, RTO Inspector, RTO Valsad, lead an insightful session on Traffic Education and Road Safety Awareness. His expertise and engaging presentation captivated the audience as he shared essential knowledge on: Understanding Road Safety Regulations, Traffic Signs & Defensive Driving Techniques, Pedestrian Safety & Accident Prevention
The session began with a motivating address by Dr. Basavaraj Patil, Director, LIT, setting the tone for the event. The distinguished guests were felicitated by Director & Principal, Prof. Amrat Patel. The program was skillfully anchored by Ms. Vasudha Badmera, adding grace and flow to the event.
A big shoutout to Coordinator Mr. Kaushik Panara and the dedicated volunteers of the NSS unit, LIT, for their exceptional efforts in organizing and managing the event. 

NSS-LIT CLEANLINESS DRIVE 2024: DUSTBIN DONATION & AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The NSS unit of Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam made strides towards a cleaner community! Our volunteers visited the road from Sarigam to the LVS campus, where they placed dustbins, cleared litter, and spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness among local residents.
Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, and the cooperation of the village Sarpanch, the area now looks remarkably clean and welcoming. 
The campaign was guided by Dr. Basavaraj Patil, Director of LIT Sarigam, and led by NSS Coordinator Prof. Kaushik Panara with the involvement of Prof. Ketan Vyas, Prof. Biraja Das, and Prof. Rahul Jadav. A heartfelt thanks to everyone for their dedication and teamwork in making this campaign a success!
 

PLANT A SMILE CAMPAIGN

As part of the ongoing campaign “Plant a Smile,” initiated by Sunita Maker’s Space in collaboration with Gajera Trust, Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam proudly participated in a tree sapling donation drive at schools across Valsad district. 

Our NSS volunteers, along with faculty members Prof. Parikshit Patel, Prof. Devan Patel, and Prof. Shubham Ahir, visited schools like Shri Swaminarayan High School in Abrama, BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir in Valsad, KUSUM Vidyalaya, Kalyani Shala, Atul, and more. Together, they distributed saplings, planted trees, and engaged with school principals and students to raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation and environmental conservation.

SWACHHATA HI SEVA 2024: CLEANLINESS CAMPAIGN

As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign, which is taking place across the country from 17th September to 2nd October, the dedicated volunteers of the NSS Unit from Laxmi Institute of Technology joined hands for a meaningful mission today. Our team visited Nargol Beach, Umargam, and took active steps in cleaning the beach, removing littered garbage, and promoting the importance of a cleaner, greener environment. Through their hard work and commitment, the volunteers not only contributed to the beautification of our natural surroundings but also spread awareness on the significance of cleanliness in our daily lives.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP 2024

On 21 August, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam, proudly organized a Blood Donation Camp on the Laxmi Vidyapeeth campus. This impactful event, held in collaboration with Valsad Raktdan Kendra and Atul Rural Development Fund, was a resounding success thanks to the meticulous planning and support from our partners. The camp saw an incredible turnout of students and staff members, all united by their enthusiasm to contribute to this vital cause. Their collective effort will undoubtedly save lives and make a lasting difference in our community.

CHARITY CLOTHING COLLECTION DRIVE

As part of our Cultural Days celebration, the Department of Electrical Engineering at LIT Sarigam joined hands with the NSS-unit to orchestrate a charity clothing collection Drive. From March 21st to April 10th, 2024, our compassionate community came together to make a difference.
With unwavering support and immense generosity, we gathered around 350 pieces of clothing to extend warmth and hope to those in need. But our efforts didn’t stop there. The dedicated volunteers of the NSS unit diligently washed, sorted, and packed each garment with care, ensuring they were ready to serve their purpose.
On April 19th, 2024, our team of 10 spirited volunteers set out to spread smiles and uplift spirits in the nearby areas of Bhilad. With hearts full of compassion and arms laden with goodwill, they distributed these clothing essentials to those who needed them most.

WORKSHOP ON CPR

A huge shoutout to Dr. Abhishek Mistry, our exceptional First Aid Trainer from the Indian Red Cross Society, Valsad Branch, who guided us through the ins and outs of CPR with expertise and passion. His dedication to spreading awareness and ensuring our community is well-equipped with essential first aid knowledge is truly commendable. 
 
The workshop, spearheaded by our NSS unit, was an incredible blend of education and hands-on experience, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and preparedness. 

ROAD SAFETY AND IMPORTANCE OF DRIVING LICENSE

LIT was honored to host an enlightening session on “Road Safety and the Importance of Driving License.”

The event was a fantastic opportunity to learn from District Transport authorities who shared invaluable insights about responsible driving and the significance of having a valid driving license. From understanding traffic rules to promoting safe practices, we delved into every aspect that contributes to a safer road environment

Awareness Programme on Voter ID Card and Election Systems in India

LIT organized an interactive session to create awareness on Voter ID Card and Election systems in India. Applying for a Voter ID Card and linking it to the Aadhar Card are crucial for establishing a smooth voting process and contributing in selection of a right leader for the nation.
Voting is not only our Right, but also our duty towards our nation. With the same purpose of spreading the awareness about the online process of making Voter ID, Shree Mangal Sinh Rajput (Executive Magistrate, Umbergaon), Shree Dharmeshbhai Patel (Supervisor, Sarigam), Shree Ineshbhai Patel (Supervisor, Sarigam) and other Booth Level Officers provided the opportunity to the students of engineering to learn about the Voter Id, its importance, registration process and its linking to Aadhar card.

Booster Dose Vaccination Drive

Given the COVID19 pandemic and the outbreak of the mutated virus, our only option is to get vaccinated and take the booster dose recommended by the Indian government. 

As a renowned institute in Valsad district, we, NSS unit of LIT, Sarigam organised COVID19 vaccination drive in collaboration with primary health centre today as part of our social contribution. The students, faculty members, office staff and other employees of Laxmi Vidyapeeth campus were vaccinated.

Making Seed Balls

The activity “Making Seed Balls” was conducted for the students of LIT as an initiative to improve the environment. 

On July 20, 2022,students from NSS-LIT made 200 seed balls from various plant seeds such as red dates, jackfruit, Indian blackberry, lemon, and tamarind. The seed balls were made from soil and vegetable seeds. The seed balls were distributed to students as well as faculty and non-teaching staff of the college. Everyone was encouraged to plant the seed balls in their gardens or in favorable places to contribute to a green and healthy environment. The campaign was successfully carried out and appreciated by all present.

 
 

World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, NSS-LIT organised “Tree Plantation Drive”. Dr. Basavaraj Patil (Director), Shri R.N Gohil (Administrative Head), Mr Anil Patel (Account Head LVS), Ms.Runa Kar (Principal, LIS-Pre-primary), Prof. Amrat Patel (Principal), faculties of various departments, students and NSS volunteers took part in tree plantation, and planted the Saplings in LVS campus.

One of the recurring thoughts of students is what to do after 10th or 12th grade. This is an extremely important stage in a student’s life because the right decision will lead to a rewarding career. There are more opportunities to change the student’s path when they start a proper college course.

Prof. Parikshit Patel and Prof. Kavita Joshi held a motivational and career guidance session organized by Samsta dharampur Brahmin Samaj & Golden memory wings for the students of 9th to 12th class and college students (Arts, Commerce and Science) in Dharampur. The students learnt about the professions they can pursue after school and the careers they can consider for their future.

 

Save Electricity Campaign

The NSS unit of LIT organised the Save Electricity Campaign today. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness on why and how to save electricity. As we all know, saving electricity means that we should only use it when necessary and not waste it. Even though sometimes we don’t notice a big impact on our daily lives when we make these kinds of small changes, but the impact of our actions on the environment is much greater. Saving electricity saves the economy, saves money and most importantly reduces global warming.

In today’s campaign, various students participated and prepared drawings and posters. Volunteers also visited all the classrooms and raised awareness among the other students. The campaign was successfully completed by the NSS volunteers along with the coordination of Prof. Panara Kaushik.

Self-defense Awareness Programme

Harassment of girls and women is widespread in our society. Many of these cases go unreported, eventually leading to heinous crimes against girls and women. There is an urgent need to address such complicated situations so that girls are able to protect themselves from harmful consequences. By getting them to learn self-defense, we can ensure a society that is full of powerful and strong women who can protect themselves.

With this same thought, we organized a self-defence awareness programme for the girls and female staff. The chief guests and trainers, Mrs. Urmin Desai (Bharatiya shikshan mandal), Mr. Hashmukh Bhai Patel (Principal, Godhra polytechnic college (Retd.), Mr. Tushar Bhai (Advocate), and Mr. Jay Bhagatwala (International Taekwondo player – Dynamic warrior martial arts academy) graced this occasion with their valuable advice, self-defense techniques and legal approaches against crimes.

Outreach Program

Choosing a good career option after 10th or 12th is a nerve-wracking task. The career should be in the field one is interested in and also bring a handsome salary. Students take a variety of subjects after 12th grade, namely science, commerce, and humanities, depending on which career fields appeal to them most. However, it is important to be fully informed about the post-high school career opportunities available in their fields that match their interests. We provide information about the various career options in the different fields so that students can get off to a good start in their careers.

Prof. Jitali Bhandari and Prof. Ronak Jadav visited Shree Swaminarayan High School, Bhilad and presented a career awareness talk for the students of 10th and 12th. Students got a chance to know how to choose the career path after their schooling and what jobs would appropriately bring great scope for the future.

COVID-19 VACCINATION DRIVE

After the success of 100 Crore Vaccination all over the nation; now, India has started Covid-19 vaccination drive for beneficiaries in the age bracket of 15-18 years is scheduled to begin from Monday across the country, following the same Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam has again joined hand in hand to Nation-Drive to defeat Covid-19.

As a renowned institute in the Valsad district, LIT Sarigam, as part of our social contribution, organized the COVID19 vaccination drive in collaboration with the primary health center of Fansa village today. The Volunteers of the NSS unit of the LIT have worked hard to make the event successful. In this drive, more than 160 Engineering students, of Diploma, Degree, D. Voc. and B. Voc. of Laxmi Vidyapeeth campus were vaccinated.

The Mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. It also aims to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.

Laxmi Institute of Technology, Sarigam has adopted the following villages under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan :

Agnipath Scheme

Agnipath Scheme (Fire-Path Scheme) is a new scheme introduced by the Government of India on 14 June 2022, for recruitment of soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers into the three services of the armed forces. The Agnipath Scheme will be the only route for recruitment into the military. Personnel recruited under this system are to be called Agniveers (Fire-Brave), which will be a new military rank. The scheme is scheduled to be implemented from September 2022.
 
Under the Agnipath scheme, 45,000 to 50,000 soldiers will be recruited annually, and most will leave the service in just 4 years. Of the total annual recruits, only 25% will be allowed to continue for another 15 years under permanent commission.
